This privacy policy applies to the Facebook app entitled “Lexicon Labs” (the “App”).
At Lexicon Labs, we respect and protect the privacy of our App users. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use your information and is part of our Terms of Use when you use our App.
We may collect certain personal and non-personal information from you.
Non-personal information includes information that can’t be used to personally identify you as an individual.
Personal Information includes age range, location, gender, email, fbid, and political party affiliation.
We also analyze information from your Facebook posts in order to compare your use of language to how the Presidential candidates use language in their own Facebook posts. We store frequency vector data that aggregates the language from all of your posts, but not the original language of your posts.
We will not post personal information about you or any other user, even on an anonymized basis. We will only post aggregate information about users. (For example, we might say that democrats generally have a writing style more similar to one of the presidential candidates.)
If you elect to display the results of your use of the App, they will be posted on your Facebook page or Twitter feed depending on what platform you choose.
We intend to store your information for up to one year.
We may provide links to or compatibility with other websites or applications. However, we’re not responsible for the privacy practices employed by those websites or the information or content they contain.
We use appropriate physical, electronic, and other procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect. However, please be aware that the Internet is an inherently unsafe environment, and that hackers are constantly working to defeat security measures.
Thus, we cannot guarantee that your information will not be accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed, and you accept this risk.
For reasons of your data security, we strongly urge you not to use the same username and/or password with multiple websites and services, as breach of one account may jeopardize the security of your other accounts.
We urge you to take steps to keep your personal information safe by not disclosing/sharing your password and/or username and by logging out of your account after each use.
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personal information for commercial or marketing purposes.
We will, if required by a valid court order, provide your personal information in a civil or criminal proceeding, after giving you notice of the request and an opportunity to obtain a court order to block the release of this information.
Our App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly or specifically collect information about children under the age of 13.
By using our App, you consent to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use our App.
If we decide to change our Privacy Policy, we will post those changes on this page. We may also, but are not required to, send you an email notice.
